J & J is a family owned and operated full service building and development company with over 60 years of combined General Contracting, design and business experience. When you build with J & J you are family. Buyers receive "hands on" service from the builders/owners themselves: Jerry Miller and James Costello. That's the J & J difference. Whether you are contracting for J & J to build "on your lot" or on one of theirs, your home will be carefully planned, well designed and solidly built. They can help you design your home or work with the architect of your choice. If you have a rough plan, they can adapt it to your specifications and turn it into a working plan. Once the final plans have been drawn, they will ensure that the style, floor plan, interior selections and landscaping will blend to create a home you will be proud to own.

The Team

J & J recognizes that building a home is possibly the single largest decision you will make and that's why it's important to us that you know as much about us as possible!

I have lived in South Florida for most of my life and Graduated from University of Florida 1974 with a degree in Building Construction. My father was in the construction business so I've been on a construction site my entire life. This has always been a business about family to me, first with my father, my wife Anne, then my brother-in-law Jim and now my daughter Kelly and Jim's children. My son Michael is working on his college degree and seems to have an interest in construction also. The prospect of leaving some type of legacy is very gratifying to me. What separates J&J in my mind is our personal touch and willingness to customize each and every plan to meet the needs of individual customers in any price range. Jim will tell you that our customers are now some of our best friends and I think that says a lot about who we are. Building the best possible home for each individual family is what I love to do.

My wife Debby and I met in college at Florida State University, raised our five children in South Florida and moved to the small Town of Oakland, Florida in 2000 to help get the Central Florida J&J initiative off and running. We love living in Johns Cove, which was J&J's first local community, where former customers have now become our neighbors and good friends. Jerry Miller, my business partner for over 20 years, is a UF graduate and that makes for some interesting Saturdays each fall, but we share the same pride filled passion when it comes to working directly with our customers to design and build their dream homes. J&J has provided me with the unique opportunity to work with lifelong friends and family, in a job I simply enjoy doing. It doesn't get much better than that.

My wife Beth and I moved from South Florida to the town of Oakland over six years ago. We have been married for 23 years and a part of the J & J family for most of that time! We have two children, Casey 20 and Santino III, age 17. I am a Certified General Contractor with over 30 years of experience in residential, commercial and hospitality construction projects. For over 15 years I have worked with J & J to deliver a quality product within its budget and schedule requirements, which makes for happy homeowners. I feel my methods and my ability to communicate with clients and contractors results in successful projects time after time. It really makes me happy to hand the keys over to a family and know that they love their home!

My husband Troy and I came to J & J in the John's Cove community having never built a home before and we were really starting from scratch (so to speak).  We have a custom home built by the CEO of J&J builders.  It is actually a house plan that he had that we modified.  We added a second floor media area, walk in storage, half bath, and computer room that basically sits inside the roof trusses .  We relocated the stairs towards the center of the house.  We rearranged the master bath with a walk in shower (no door). We had a front porch added, bumped out the garage a little and had a nice size island built in the kitchen.  We have been in the house for 3 years and the quality build has been great.  We even turned him on to Solatube lighting, which adds natural light with out the heat.  We still get compliments on our home.  Thanks Jerry!
